Photo Diary #6 Langkawi

1. Super symmetry. 2. Pool side reading. You can't tell from the picture but the dark messed up content of the book really served as a contrast with the background. 3. Hotel pool. 4. Sad attempt to acquire a tan by lying on the beach for a good period of time before spotting monkeys on the trees and fleeing back to my room. 5. Boardwalk from the room to the beach. 6. Fish and chips for dinner at a random ass restaurant by the beach. 7. Lazy chairs by the pool. 8. Mini chill area outside our room which I envisioned myself sitting and reading there but I got attacked by a family of thirsty mosquitoes and anemic people like myself can't afford to loose blood. 9. Sundown.

Taken a couple of months back when I made a trip to Langkawi with family. Salty air, cheap booze and chocolate. I've never been much of a nature person, try as I might. On the boat ride, while trying to get a picture by sitting too close to the edge of the boat, it suddenly went through a rough bump which resulted in me being drenched with salt water and a mouth full of it as well. Although I did enjoy looking at the change of scenery and also the sun that gave me a pathetic tan that didn't last too long. I've never been a fan of beaches to be honest. Yes it is pleasant to the eyes but is it really worth having sand hidden in all the nooks and crannies of your body and having salt water burn and evoking crazy itches on my skin? Not really? Maybe this also dates back to a traumatic incident of me being stung by a jelly fish at the beach when I was 6. But I will give nature some rightful credit. There is an overpowering sense of tranquility that comes with sitting at the beach alone with your own thoughts and a book (before monkeys show up lol fuck monkeys)

Photo Diary #5

1. Sultan Idris Shah street at 12am . 2. Rad ancient Chinese door on one of the dilapidated shop lots built from way back when. 3. A massive tree adorned with twinkling lights at DR Park. Taken a few seconds before we ran into the car for shelter because it was pitch black and we have no guts. 4. Unnecessarily colorful trees along Riverfront Ipoh, because we were bored and bright stuff attracts us. 5. Pulled an all-nighter and went hiking early in the morning (and had breakfast at Kong Heng as usual!) 6. QR being rude.

It was my first weekend home alone but i wasn't alone much thanks to some much needed solitary company which I am completely thankful of. Lots of aimless driving, profound talks and puerile chatter.

Photo Diary #4

1 & 2. My first time attending a friend's Raya open house, because I'm that sociable. The first picture looks like an unlikely family portrait, and the second one, with two Assistant Troop Leaders. 3. My favourite chicken noodle soup, in my favourite Chinese coffee shop, with my least favourite person in the entire world. 4. The al fresco/ corridor seats at Happy Eight. 5. Sitting on random decorative rocks outside Happy Eight because I GET TIRED EVERY 5 MINUTES. 6. Plan B at night, which is a stunning place. 7. Knock off of the "O' Captain My Captain" scene, but not really, given the lack of height provided by the marble bench. 8. Least favourite person in the world being embarrassing by using straws as chopsticks to scoop whipped cream at Starbucks. 9. Stuck in a pavilion while hiking because it starting pouring which brought in the Silent Hill-esque mist after.

Photo diary #3

1. My favourite purchase from the recent Big Bad Wolf book sale. A massive cardboard Pulp Fiction poster of the iconic Mia Wallace. 2. My first time trying churros at Indulgence (which was abit of a let down, frankly) 3. Taking a detour through Ipoh Padang. Photo was taken 30 seconds before I noticed a flock of pigeons and freaked out. I am starting to develop ornithophobia. 4. Avatar. #nofilter. 5. Coffee buddies, in which we sit at random cafes and talk about jeans. Because why not. 6. Lemon squares, basically the only kind of baking I am capable of because of how simple it is.

Photo Diary #2 Melaka

1 & 2. Evaded the oppressive crowd along Jonker Street into a small street void of loud and sweaty tourists. Something about almost dilapidated shop lots that's quite enthralling. 3. Jonker street, 7pm, Geogrpaher Cafe. 4. Cute Totoro painting on the door of yet another shop lot. 5. Taken while walking around town with mom, from Dataran Pahlawan to Jonker Street. 6. Halia  Inc cafe, which was disappointingly closed. 7, 8 & 9. Mods Cafe, tucked into the nook and cranny of Jonker Street. A 60's Brit Mod themed cafe, with a retro Volkswagen van inside, serving as a cashier counter, and an espresso machine in the trunk of the van. It was crazy packed when I got there, given the fact that it was a Sunday, so I couldnt really walk around to take pictures without disrupting other patrons. I especially like the tiny table that resembles the logo of The Who.

Photo Diary #1

1. Iced mocha from Plan B, possibly my 20th cup in the past few months. Mocha has never been my first choice for caffeinated drinks, but this is the only exception. 2 & 3. Late night shenanigans on Jusco  rooftop before our movie (which got  cancelled!). 18 years of living in this small  town and I have never had a view of  Ipoh in the nighttime until now. 4. Wrestling Adrian in the  midst  of a ruined photo. We have matching hoodies (purely coincidental), but mine looks better. 5. Catching up over burgers with KYUEM boys. Tuition mates ages  ago, back when I watched Hannah Montana and knee length leggings were  the shit. 6. 4  season pudding and iced tea at Purple Cane with QR. 7 & 8. Walking around OldTown  in the evening. One of the overly hyped murals by Ernest Zacharevic and the other entrance of Plan B that I'm all too familiar with. 9. A sad attempt at a picture. Trimmed off my hair and it is alot shorter than what I had in mind, but at least hair grows (albeit slow) as opposed to a limb.
